What's new – April 2, 2026
Here's what shipped since April 1. The big theme: a complete document management overhaul with folders, drag-and-drop, and AI that can read and write your documents.
✨ New & improved
Document folders
-
📁 Folders — Documents can now be organized into folders with unlimited nesting. Create folders from the sidebar, drag documents or folders to move them, and navigate using URL-based paths (
/documents/folders/Board Minutes). -
🌲 Folder tree sidebar — A collapsible folder tree lives alongside the document table. Right-click any folder to rename, create a subfolder, or delete. The current folder is highlighted as you navigate.
-
🗂️ Drag-and-drop — Drag any document row and drop it onto a folder in the sidebar to move it. The row fades while dragging so you can see where you're placing it.
Document table improvements
-
🖱️ Right-click context menu — Right-clicking any document row opens an action menu with View, Download, Edit, Move to Folder, Make Public/Private, and Delete. The separate
…button is gone. -
🌐 Community visibility toggle — A globe icon in each row lets you make a document publicly visible on the community site (orange when public). Also available in the right-click menu.
-
🔍 URL-synced search — The search input is now in the page header and the query is stored in the URL, so searches are shareable and survive page refreshes.
-
📐 Auto-sized columns — All columns except Document Name shrink to fit their content. The name column takes the remaining space.
-
🗑️ Size column removed — The Size column has been removed to reduce clutter.
-
🏷️ Inline category picker — Click any category cell directly in the table to open a searchable picker and change the category without opening an edit dialog.
-
🖼️ Empty state illustration — When no documents exist (or none match a search or folder), a custom illustration is shown instead of a plain "no results" message. The message changes based on context — empty org, empty folder, or no search matches.
AI assistant — documents
-
📄 AI can list, read, and manage documents — Ask the assistant to list documents, get details on a specific file, delete a document, or toggle its community visibility.
-
✍️ AI can create documents — The assistant can draft and upload text/markdown documents directly. Ask it to "draft governance documents" or "draft a meeting agenda" and it will write the content and add it to your document library.
-
📁 AI can manage folders — The assistant can list folders, create new ones, rename them, move them, or delete them. It can also move documents between folders.
-
📋 Tools menu updated — The Documents group has been added to the AI chat tools menu with shortcuts for common document tasks.
